Willis Island DXpedition 2015

An international team activated amateur radio DXpedition station VK9WA from Willis Islets November 14-23, 2015. Willis Island was #32 on the Club Log most wanted entities list at the time and had not had a significant activation since 2008.

The team operated 160-10 meters on SSB, CW, and RTTY from Middle Islet. The island is 450km off the Eastern Australia coast and is only 4 acres in size. We concluded the operation with nearly 62,000 contacts.

How You Can Help

While this is a small, budget-conscious DXpedition, activating Willis Island requires significant expense for a charter boat and equipment. We kindly invite you to donate to the cause and support us. Any amount will help. Those who donate $10 or more will be provided priority QSL status and will be subscribed to the VK9WA Insiders Newsletter which will provide regular behind-the-scenes insights into the team's preparation and plans. All sponsors and supporters will be listed on the Sponsors page.
